Meet Your Guide

Danica

Mindfulness facilitator, counselor, psychotherapist

and yoga therapist.

Danica’s journey with mindfulness started by chance, when she was conducting research in the field of exercise and sports studies. This led her to explore her own meditation practice, which in turn sparked a deeper interest in counselling psychology and neuroscience of mindfulness and yoga.

These days, Danica channels her focus into helping people experience mind-body balance. She teaches mindfulness, yoga therapeutics, and coaching programmes, such as the Mindful Schools curriculum for youth, and athlete performance programmes.

“My greatest takeaway from this course would be being acutely aware of every thought and emotion that I experience, thereby allowing me to observe myself from a distance especially in difficult situations. Being an observer of my mind has helped me to navigate difficult situations in my life.”

— K. Goh.

“MBSR with Danica has been one of the best decisions that I have made in my life. It has helped me to be more kind to myself, to others and to come to the realization of what matters to you in life. I faced some challenging times before the MBSR and the way I reacted was I wished for the challenging moments to vanish. However now, I know that you can only handle those challenging times in a better manner by accepting them, making peace with some emotions, changing unhelpful thought patterns and mainly, it is my choice on how I make myself feel. The community of people that I practiced together with have been the best and I felt a deeper connection with them than people who I have known for a longer time. Thank you Danica for being amazing!”

“Danica’s approach to teaching MBSR has been very inviting, honest and open. She leads by guiding the class in a self-exploratory manner which makes the learning very intimate and personal for the participant.

I would highly recommend Danica’s MBSR course to anyone embarking on a journey of self discovery.”

“When you really feel that life is cold and disconnected, try this to be in touch with life again slowly, in a non-judging, non-hostile and peaceful environment. Trust the process of time and mindfulness for what you seek, be it self-esteem, insight into yourself and the circumstances you are facing. :) “

-LHC

" I didn’t expect that this course will really help me to understand myself and overcome difficulties I am facing in everyday life. I thought meditation cannot be achieved by a person like me. Thanks to this course, I found my “shin fu” & inner peace. I know it’s only the beginning and I will still face a lot of obstacles but at last I have a stepping stone to begin with. Thank you teacher Danica.”

— A. Albuero

“Danica is a very patient and understanding instructor. She is able to create a very safe space for sharing, and takes the time and effort to recognise and appreciate all the sharing sessions.

She has been very patient and assuring throughout the course which makes me feel comfortable that the pace I’m going at is a good enough pace and that I am able to sit down confidently to assure myself of my learning journey.”
