Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Yuki Hasegawa is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who tailors therapy to meet the unique needs and goals of each individual. Her approach blends empathy, cultural sensitivity, and evidence-based techniques to help clients navigate challenges, foster self-awareness, and achieve lasting positive change. She is committed to supporting individuals in enhancing their emotional well-being, building healthier relationships, and finding greater fulfillment in life.
Born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, Yuki moved to New York in her mid-20s as an expatriate's spouse. During her ten years there, she earned a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and became a licensed mental health therapist in New York. She began her career in a group practice and later established her own private practice in Manhattan, where she worked with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. In 2023, Yuki relocated to Singapore, once again as an expatriate’s spouse, and continues her therapeutic practice.
BIOGRAPHY
Drawing from her personal and professional journey, Yuki has extensive experience working with diverse populations in New York and Singapore. She addresses a broad spectrum of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, self-esteem, life transitions, and acculturation issues. Yuki is particularly passionate about supporting expatriates and individuals navigating multicultural experiences, offering a deep understanding of these unique challenges.
In addition to her multicultural expertise, Yuki specializes in helping clients with career-related concerns. Her prior experience in Tokyo’s financial industry and New York’s publishing industry gives her unique insight into the pressures of corporate life. This enables her to effectively support clients dealing with career-related stress and burnout.
Yuki utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and culturally responsive practices. She is fluent in English and Japanese, offering counseling in both languages to serve clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. Yuki provides individual, couples, and family counseling to meet a variety of client needs.
Counseling Perspective is a center for counseling in Singapore. We offer an integrated approach to therapy using techniques and tools tailored specifically to our clients and the issues they face. We help clients so that they can feel empowered to make healthy decisions themselves. We work with adults, kids, couples, and families.
